Caterpillar Cross Stitch

Founded in 2015, Caterpillar Cross Stitch is a crafting business that specialises in contemporary cross stitch kits. 

Our challenge was to create a brand identity that would enable the business to stand out in the growing cross stitch marketplace. I worked closely with Sally to design an identity that felt fresh and full of energy but that was sympathetic to the previous logo. The name Caterpillar Cross Stitch was chosen as much like a caterpillar, cross stitch starts out slowly and then flourishes in to a beautiful piece of art.

The brief for the logo was to inject some fun and playfulness into the Caterpillar Cross Stitch identity whilst retaining Carlos the caterpillar.

The custom logotype is fun and playful, and the movement and flow of the letterforms are mirrored by Carlos that sits above. 

The colour palette is inspired by threads that are most commonly used in the cross stitch kits. Together we designed all of the brand touch points including packaging and social media templates.
