Nicola Jarvis Studio
Nicola Jarvis is a world renowned artist and hand embroiderer. Nicola travels the world teaching the art of embroidery through her beautiful embroidery kits. Nicola's stunning embroidery pieces reflect the natural world and much of her art is inspired by the work of William and May Morris. Nicola was at a stage of growth with her business and felt the need to update her brand identity and all elements of communication and packaging. The identity that we designed featured a modern cut of William Morris' typeface 'Golden Type'. The initials crest is inspired by embroidery monograms and the type is loosely based on a sixteenth century illuminated manuscript. The crown within the identity references Nicola's training at the Royal School of Needlework and is based on an engraving of a Bavarian Queen's crown dated 1840. The overall identity has a foot firmly rooted in the past but is also clean and modern.
